Observation of Ds+ a0(980)+f0(500) in the Amplitude Analysis of Ds+ π+ π0 π0 η
Abstract
We report the first observation of the decay Ds+ π+π0π0η in a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 7.33 fb-1, collected in e+e- collisions by the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.128 and 4.226 GeV. An unexpectedly large branching fraction B( Ds+ a0(980)+ f0(500), a0(980)+ π+η, f0(500) π0π0) = (0.98 0.16stat. 0.22syst.)\% is measured with a significance exceeding 10σ, offering new constraints on the internal structure of light scalar mesons. The dominant intermediate process is Ds+ a1(1260)+η, a1(1260)+ (770)+π0 with a branching fraction of (1.77 0.21 stat. 0.12 syst.)\%. The isospin symmetry has been validated to the decays of a1(1260)+ (770)0π+ and a1(1260)+ (770)+π0. Moreover, the measured B(Ds+ π+π0π0η|non-η)=(2.97 0.23 stat. 0.14 sys.) reduces the undetected Ds+ η X decay branching fractions to (0.1 3.1)\%.
