Let q1, … , qt be distinct prime numbers. Let a1, … , at be nonnegative integers. We establish effective lower bounds for |zd - q1a1 … qtat| and for its greatest prime factor, which tend to infinity with zd, where z is a positive integer coprime with q1 … qt and d 2 is an integer.
