Primordial Galaxy Formation and IGM Reionization
Abstract
In this talk I will present a model for primordial galaxy formation. In particular, I will review the feedback effects that regulate the process: (i) radiative (i.e. ionizing and H2-photodissociating photons) and (ii) stellar (i.e. SN explosions) feedback produced by massive stars. I will show the results of a model for galaxy formation and IGM reionization, which includes a self-consistent treatment of the above feedback effects. Finally, I will describe a Monte Carlo method for the radiative transfer of ionizing photons through the IGM and discuss its application to the IGM reionization problem.
