Measurement of the Branching Fraction for B+- --> chic0 K+-

Abstract

We present a measurement of the branching fraction of the decay B+- --> chic0 K+- from a sample of 89 million BB pairs collected by the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at SLAC. The chic0 meson is reconstructed through its two-body decays to pi+ pi- and K+ K-. We measure BR(B+- --> chic0 K+-)* BR(chic0 --> pi+ pi-) = (1.32+0.28-0.27(stat) +- 0.09(syst))*10-6 and BR(B+- --> chic0 K+-) * BR(chic0 --> K+ K-) = (1.49+0.36-0.34(stat) +- 0.11(syst))* 10-6. Using the known values for the chic0 decays branching fractions, we combine these results to obtain BR(B+- --> chic0 K+-) = (2.7+-0.7)* 10-4.
