Results from the Y(5S) engineering run (BELLE)

Abstract

We report results based on a 1.86 fb-1 data sample collected on the (5S) resonance by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy e+ e- collider. The inclusive production of Ds, D0 and J/ mesons at the (5S) is studied. From the Ds inclusive branching fraction the ratio fs = (16.4 1.4 4.1)% of Bs(*) Bs(*) to the total bb quark pair production at the (5S) energy is obtained in a model dependent way. The exclusive decays Bs Ds(*)+ π- (/-) and Bs J/ φ (/η) are studied and a significant Bs signal is observed combining these modes. The Bs meson production is found to proceed predominantly through the creation of B*s B*s pairs. Upper limits on Bs K+ K-, Bs φ γ, Bs γ γ and Bs Ds(*)+ Ds(*)- decays are reported.
