Evidence of New States Decaying into c*π
Abstract
Using data recorded by the CLEO II detector at CESR, we report evidence for two new charmed baryons, one decaying into c+π+π- via an intermediate c*0, and its isospin partner decaying into c0π+π- via an intermediate c*+. We measure the mass differences of the two states to be M(c+π+π-)-M(c+)= 348.60.61.0 MeV, and M(c0π+π-)-M(c0)= 347.20.72.0 MeV. We interpret these new states as the JP = 3 2- c1 particles, the charmed-strange analogues of the c1+(2625).
