Spectrum of k-string tensions in SU(N) gauge theories
Abstract
We compute, for the four-dimensional SU(4) and SU(6) gauge theories formulated on a lattice, the string tensions sigmak related to sources with ZN charge k, using Monte Carlo simulations. Our results are compatible with sigmak sin (k pi/N), and show sizeable deviations from Casimir scaling.
