Axionic Domain Wall and Warped Geometry
Abstract
We discuss how a three-brane with an associated non-factorizable (warped) geometry can emerge from a five dimensional theory of gravity coupled to a complex scalar field. The system possesses a discrete Z2 symmetry, whose spontaneous breaking yields an 'axionic' three-brane and a warped metric. Analytic solutions for the wall profile and warp factor are presented. The Kaluza-Klein decomposition and some related issues are also discussed.
