On the Deconfinement Phase Transition in Heavy-Ion Collisions

Abstract

The factorial moments (FM) of multiplicity distribution are used to study the deconfinement phase transition in heavy-ion collisions. The relation between FM and the partition number, M, results positive intermittency exponents, φq. According to the signatures suggested from certain statistical models, the two-dimensional results of the dependence of φq/φ2, anomalous fractal, dq/d2 and R\'enyi dimensions, Rq/ R, and the normalized exponents, ζq, on the orders of FM evidently supply evidence for the quark-hadron phase transition in Pb+Pb collisions at 158 AGeV.
