Heavy Quark Kinetic Energy in B Mesons by a QCD Relativistic Potential Model

Abstract

The matrix element of the kinetic energy operator between B meson states is computed by means of a QCD relativistic potential model, with the result: μπ2=0.66 GeV2. A comparison with the outcome of other theoretical approaches and a discussion of the phenomenological implications of this result are carried out.
