Bs0 Ds-a1+(Ds- φ π-, Ds- K*0K-) decay channel in the ATLAS Bs0-mixing studies

Abstract

It is shown, using a track-level simulation, that the use of the Ds- K*0K- decay channel for Ds- reconstruction, in additioon with the previously studied Ds- φ π- mode, enables two fold gain in the ATLAS Bs0-mixing signal statistics through Bs0 Ds-a1 Bs0-decay channel. A new modification of the amplitude fit method is suggested for the xs determination. Some general aspects of the Bs0-mixing phenomenon is illustrated by pictures of Casimir Malevich, Maurits Cornelis Escher and Salvador Dali.
