Dickson Invariants in the image of the Steenrod Square

Abstract

Let Dn be the Dickson invariant ring of F2[X1,...,Xn] acted by the general linear group GL(n,2). In this paper, we provide an elementary proof of the conjecture by [Hung]: each element in Dn is in the image of the Steenrod square in F2[X1,...,Xn], where n>3.
