Parity violation in reactions with B- and Li- nuclei using polarized thermal neutrons

Abstract

Parity violation in the (n,α) reactions on 6Li and 10B nuclei and in the γ-transition between two lowest levels of 7Li nucleus is discussed. It appears that the effects (neutral currents contribution in particular) are measurable due to the large values of the neutron cross sections. This holds promise for the theoretical extraction of the constants of the weak NN potential because of the relative simplicity of the investigated systems.
