Algebraic curves admitting automorphism groups of large prime square order
Nazar Arakelian, Diego Kian
Abstract
Let K denote an algebraically closed field of arbitrary characteristic. In this paper we provide bounds for the size of a prime for which there are curves defined over K admitting automorphism groups of order 2. In addition, we also give a classification of the families of curves attaining the upper bounds for in both tame and wild case. Finally, we present the full automorphism groups of the curves attaining the highest bounds.
