Bogomolny Monopoles on Asymptotically Cylindrical 3-Manifolds

Abstract
We construct irreducible smooth SU(2)-monopoles on asymptotically cylindrical 3-manifolds with vanishing first and second Betti numbers by a gluing construction. We also construct reducible singular U(1)-Dirac monopoles on arbitrary asymptotically cylindrical 3-manifolds.
