Makhlin polytopes are Demazure string polytopes

Abstract
We show that Makhlin's polytopes in type Bn are unimodularly equivalent to string polytopes for Demazure modules in type B2n-1. The proof passes through type C, combining Makhlin's diagonal comparison with symplectic FFLV polytopes and the B/C similarity for string cones.
