Parity-violating Møller scattering: complete two-loop corrections
Andrzej Czarnecki
Abstract
The MOLLER experiment will measure the parity-violating asymmetry of Møller scattering to 2.4%. We present its fermionic and bosonic two-loop electroweak corrections to the zeroth and first orders in 1-42θW. Light quarks enter through vacuum polarization from e+e- data or lattice QCD. For 2θW(MZ) = 0.23122 and an 11 GeV beam, the weak charge of the electron is 0.04546(8) (data) or 0.04517(5) (lattice). Two-loop terms contribute 1.5% of it. Uncomputed terms are estimated at 4% of the experimental goal; the data-lattice difference, about 25% of that goal, limits the prediction.
