On Emergent Geometry of the Generalized BGW Theory
Dingkang Xiong, Jian Zhou
Abstract
We present a systematic study of the mathematical theory of the generalized Brézin-Gross-Witten (BGW) theory using methods from statistical physics. We prove the multidifferentials of the generalized BGW theory are given by the Eynard-Orantin topological recursion in a generic background with general coupling constants. Furthermore, we characterize the transition between the Witten-Kontsevich model and the generalized BGW theory. This approach yields a new proof of the Okuyama-Sakai conjecture, further elucidating the deep structural connections between these two fundamental models.
