Abstract
The Transient Array Radio Telescope (TART) is an open-source 24-element 1573-1577 MHz L-band imaging interferometer designed for research and education. This paper introduces the physical architecture of the TART, describes it's electronics, radios, correlator, and the design of the antenna array. Then we discuss the software architecture, including the calibration of the telescope using satellites and imaging pipelines. Imaging results are presented, which lead to an estimate of ~52 kJy for the sensitivity of the telescope.
