Robustness against lying of the confidence interval for a fraction of population with a sensitive characteristic
Wojciech Zieliński
Abstract
In the investigations devoted to sensitive questions the problem is with the truthfulness of survey participants. We offer a fresh perspective on respondent deception. We investigate the influence of lying on the properties of the confidence intervals for the fraction of the sensitive part of a population. It is shown that the coverage probability is robust against lying.
