Axion Electrodynamics in Presence of a Stellar Non-homogeneous Background Magnetic Field
Bernard Teles de Menezes
Abstract
We re-assess effects of Axion Electrodynamics in the presence of non-homogeneous background magnetic fields. The Primakoff effect, which is an ALP-photon mixing induced by a background magnetic field, is generalized to the case of non-homogeneous backgrounds. The production of ALPs from a magnetized plasma thermal medium is also computed. The Eddington's solar standard model is adopted as the phenomenological scenario for our settings, and new bounds on the Axion Electrodynamics parameter space are imposed by considering helioseismological and neutrino observational measurements.
