Probing Lorentz Symmetry Violation via Hadroproduction in Electroweak Pair Annihilation

Abstract
The violation of Lorentz symmetry is anticipated in some theories beyond the Standard Model so various processes have been studied to search for the effects of Lorentz symmetry violation (LSV). High energy collision experiments provide a suitable environment where Lorentz symmetry breaking can be examined. In this work, we study the effect of Lorentz-violating terms on the hadron production process from pair annihilation, including a vectorial nonminimal coupling between the fermions and gauge fields in the Electroweak sector. To be specific, we study the effect of CPT-odd nonminimal Lorentz symmetry violating couplings on the production of bottom flavored mesons through pair annihilation in the Electroweak theory, i.e., e+e- qq B+Jets. Considering the available data and the analytical result for the tree-level cross section σLO(e+e- B+Jets) in the presence of LSV terms, we determine an upper bound on the purely time-like background 4-vector as strict as 10-3 GeV-1, in agreement with previous works on similar Lorentz violating couplings.
