Abstract
The strong cosmic censorship conjecture argues that the future evolution of the spacetime should be predictable from the initial data. However, within the framework of general relativity, some counterexamples to the conjecture have been found, especially for de Sitter spacetime. Spurred by challenges to the validity of the strong cosmic censorship conjecture, we extend such investigations to conformal Killing gravity, a promising candidate beyond Einstein's theory. Considering neutral massless scalar perturbations for charged de Sitter black hole, we not only shed light on the quasinormal mode spectrum, but also clarify whether the modifications from conformal Killing gravity and nonlinear electrodynamics can rescue the strong cosmic censorship conjecture, and further investigate how characteristic parameters affect its validity. As the first instance for investigating the conjecture in the framework of conformal Killing gravity, this paper reports some unexpected findings.
