Torsion points in families of elliptic curves

Abstract
We study the specialization of torsion points in one-parameter degenerations of elliptic curves with singular fibers of Kodaira type. We describe the resulting torsion curves, their ramifications, intersection multiplicities, and irreducible and connected components.
