HgMn stars: new insights

Abstract
Recent results obtained by various authors on the properties of HgMn stars are reviewed. Substantial progress has been achieved in the study of abundances and isotopic anomalies. The results about the magnetic fields and membership in multiple systems suggest further directions of investigations to be followed in view of answering the question of the development of abundance peculiarities in HgMn stars.
