Consistency of the Nonsymmetric Gravitational Theory
Abstract
A nonsymmetric gravitational theory (NGT) is presented which is free of ghost poles, tachyons and higher-order poles and there are no problems with asymptotic boundary conditions. An extended Birkhoff theorem is shown to hold for the spherically symmetric solution of the field equations. A static spherically symmetric solution in the short-range approximation, μ-1 > 2m, is everywhere regular and does not contain a black hole event horizon.
