Experimental study of ηc decays into vector-vector final states

Abstract

Using 58 million J/ events accumulated with the BES II detector, branching fractions for the ηc ->VV decays, ηc -> , ηc -> K* K*, ηc -> ω ω, and ηc -> φ φ, are measured. The branching fractions are Br(ηc -> ) = (1.25 0.37 0.51) × 10-2, Br(ηc -> * K*) = (10.4 2.6 4.3) × 10-3, Br(ηc -> ωω) < 6.3 × 10-3 (90 % CL), and Br(ηc -> φ φ) = (2.5 0.5 0.9) × 10-3. The process ηc -> ωφ is also searched for, and the 90% CL upper limit Br(etac -> ωφ) < 1.3 × 10-3 is obtained for this process.
