Precision Measurement of sin2thetaW from nu-N Scattering at NuTeV and Direct Measurements of MW
Abstract
We present the preliminary result of sin2thetaW from nu-N deep inelastic scattering experiment, NuTeV, at Fermilab. This measurement of sin2thetaW comes from measuring the Paschos-Wolfenstein parameter R-=sigmaNCnu-sigmaNCnubar/(sigmaCCnu-sigmaCCnubar), using separate beams of nu and nubar, utilizing the SSQT. The resulting value of sin2θW(on-shell) is 0.22530.0019(stat)0.0010(syst). This value is equivalent to the mass of the W boson, MW=80.260.11 GeV/c2. We also summarize the direct measurements of MW from the Tevatron pbar-p collider experiments, D and CDF. Combining these two direct measurements yields MW=80.370.08 GeV/c2.
