Study of the Hadronic Decays of χc States
J. Z. Bai
Abstract
Hadronic decays of the P-wave spin-triplet charmonium states χcJ (J=0,1,2) are studied using a sample of ψ(2S) decays collected by the BES detector operating at the BEPC storage ring. Branching fractions for the decays χc1 going to Ks0 K+ π- + c.c., χc0 going to Ks0 Ks0, χc2 going to Ks0 Ks0, χc0 going to ϕϕ, χc2 going to ϕϕand χcJ going to K+ K- K+ K- are measured for the first time, and those for χcJ going to π+ π- π+ π-, $ χcJ going to π+ π- K+ K-, χcJ going to π+ π- p p and χcJ going to 3(π+ π-) are measured with improved precision. In addition, we determine the masses of the χc0 and ηc to be Mχc0=3414.1 0.6(stat) 0.8 (sys) MeV and Mηc=2975.8 3.9(stat) 1.2 (sys) MeV.
