The Phase Transition to the Quark Gluon Plasma: Recent Results from Lattice Calculations

Abstract

We will discuss here some of the recent results obtained from lattice simulations of QCD at non-zero temperature. Such calculations aim at a quantitative understanding of the thermodynamics of strongly interacting matter in equilibrium. We concentrate on a discussion of the equation of state, the chiral transition in two-flavour QCD and hadronic properties related to chiral symmetry restoration in the vicinity of Tc.
