Improved determination of b quark mass from spectroscopy

Abstract

Using recently evaluated contributions (including a novel one calculated here), we present updated values for the pole mass and MS mass of the b quark: mb=502258 MeV, for the pole mass, and mb(mb)=428636 MeV for the MS one. These values are accurate including, respectively, O(αs5αs) and O(αs3) corrections and, in both cases, leading orders in the ratio mc2/mb2.
