Proton-carbon CNI polarimetry and the spin-dependence of the Pomeron
Abstract
Recent polarized proton experiments at Brookhaven National Laboratory are used as a basis for a model of the energy dependence of the analyzing power of proton-carbon elastic scattering. In addition to their practical value for polarimetry, the results of this analysis give constraints on the size of the Pomeron spin-flip coupling as well as information on the f2 and ω spin-flip couplings.
