Production of the pentaquark exotic baryon Xi5 in barK N scattering : barK N -> K Xi5 and barK N -> K* Xi5
Abstract
We investigate the production of the newly found pentaquark exotic baryon Xi5 in the barK N -> K Xi5 and the barK N -> K* Xi5 reactions at the tree level. We consider both positive- and negative parities of the Xi5. The reactions are dominated by the s- and u-channel processes, and the resulting cross sections depend very much on the parity of Xi5 and on the type of form factor. We have seen that the cross sections for the positive-parity Xi5 are generally about a hundred times larger than those of the negative-parity one. This large difference in the cross sections will be useful for further study of pentaquark baryons.
