LRG Production of Di-Jets As a Probe of s-Channel Unitarity

Abstract

Hard diffractive production of di-jets in the Tevatron and HERA are explored. It is argued that a consistent pQCD description of these data can be attained after s-channel unitarity re-scattering screening corrections are incorporated in the calculation. To this end a simple procedure is presented in which information derived from the measured soft total, elastic and diffractive cross sections simplifies the calculation and makes it parameter free. The above approach eliminates the inconsistencies seemingly observed when comparing the rates of diffractive di-jets production in different channels.
