Spontaneous Superfluid Current Generation in CFL at Nonzero Strange Quark Mass

Abstract

We find that for large enough strange quark mass, ms2/4 μ >2/3(1-0.024), kaon condensed CFL phase of asymptotically dense 3 flavor quark matter is unstable with respect to spontaneous generation of currents of Nambu Goldstone bosons due to spontaneous breaking of baryon number symmetry and hypercharge symmetry in CFLK0 ground state. The total baryon and hypercharge currents still vanish in the ground state. We find that CFLK0 and the new state are separated by the first order phase transition.
