Relativistic effects in radiative transitions of charmonia

Abstract

In the framework of a relativistic quark model constructed in an infinite momentum frame, corrections of the order of v2/c2 are obtained in the formulas which express amplitudes of the transitions (') η_c(η'_c)γ, _J γ, ' _Jγ, h_c η_cγ, η'_c h_cγ through overlap integrals ∫ φ*f(q) φi(q) d q, ∫ φ*f(r)r φi(r) d r. These corrections lead to a considerable suppression of (η_cγ), however, they are insufficient to remove the existing disagreement of quark model predictions with experiment. Taking into account the relativistic corrections, the ratios of overlap integrals for _0 γ, _2 γ and ' _0γ, ' _2γ transitions are extracted from experiment; the obtained results are compared with quark model predictions.
