Abstract
The relativistic quark potential model (QPM) is developed for describingvector mesons and their leptonic decays. The new representation Salpeter equation for vector mesons is proposed. Studying the τρν decay theexpression for ρ-meson leptonic decay constant fρ isobtained. It is shown that quark model describes on a satisfactory level both theconstant fρ and the masses of other charged vector mesons. Thevalues for the leptonic decay constants of K*,D*,D*s,B*,B*c mesons are predicted.
