Abstract
Let Mn be a complete, non-compact and C∞-smooth Riemannian manifold with nonnegative sectional curvature. Suppose S is a soul of Mn. Then any distance non-increasing retraction : Mn S must give rise to a C∞-smooth Riemannian submersion.
