A note on non-amenability of B(p) for p=1,2
Abstract
This is an expository note on non-amenabilty of the Banach algebra B(p) for p=1,2. These were proved respectively by Connes (p=2) and Read (p=1) via very different methods. We give a single proof which reproves both.
