Abstract
The paper concerns asymptotic studies for the sixth Painlevé transcendent as independent variable tends to infinity. The primary tool is averaging and the Whitham method. Elliptic ansatz, appropriate modulation equation and asymptotics for some partial solution to PVI are found.
