Abstract
We discuss the interchangeability of the thermodynamic limit β ∞ and the infinite limit of the Trotter number n ∞ when Trotter formula eH0+V =n ∞ (eH0/n eV/n) is used to calculate partition functions with Hamiltonians of the form H=H0+V.
