The multiple scattering of scalar waves in diffusive media is investigated by means of the radiative transfer equation. Since effectively the local contact vortex velocity dependent part of the Magnus force in a Josephson junction array is zero in the classical limit, we predict zero classical Hall effect. We describe an exact derivation of the total nondissipative transverse force acting on a quantized vortex moving in a uniform background. The evaluation of high-energy cross sections involving the SM Higgs boson requires the use of the Higgs running coupling $λ(μ)$. Taking $μ$ to be equal to the center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}$ of the scattering process, the perturbative approach fails for relatively small values of the Higgs mass and coupling, $λ(\sqrt{s})\approx 2.2$. Performing an approxima

We study the equilibration of the right-helicity states of light Dirac neutrinos in the early universe by solving the momentum dependent Boltzmann equations numerically. We show that the main effect is due to electroweak gauge boson poles, which enhance thermalization rates by some three orders of magnitude. The right-helicity states of tau neutrinos will be

We propose a phenomenological formula relating the Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix $V_{KM}$ and quark masses in a form $(m_d,\ m_s,\ m_b)\propto (m_u,\ m_c,\ m_t)V_{KM}$. The formula agrees with experimental data well and has an interesting geometric picture. The origin of such a formula is discussed in the standard model.

We study $t \bar t$ production in R-parity violating supersymmetry. The annihilation channel $q \bar q \rightarrow t \bar t$ gets new contributions from $t$-channel exchange of squarks or sleptons. With the data from Tevatron on $t \bar t$ production, we find that the squark- or slepton-exchange processes constrain the $B$-violating $λ''$ couplings o

A new calculation of the neutron electric form factor is described. Preliminary results for the connected part on a $20^{3}\times 32$ lattice are presented. The methods for calculating the disconnected part are briefly described.

We study a coupling flow of pure QCD gauge system by using the Monte Carlo Renormalization Group method. A rough location of the renormalized trajectory in two coupling space is obtained. Also we compare 4 different actions; (a)standard Wilson, (b)Symanzik's, (c)Iwasaki's and (d)QCDTARO's. The rotational symmetry is restored better as an action g

We discuss special supersymmetric extreme black holes in 4 and 5 dimensions which have regular horizons, non-zero entropy and can be interpreted as compactifications of BPS bound states of p-branes in 10 or 11 dimensions.

We study two quantization schemes for compact symplectic manifolds with almost complex structures. The first of these is the Spin-c quantization. We prove the analog of Kodaira vanishing for the Spin-c Dirac operator, which shows that the index space of this operator provides an honest (not virtual) vector space semiclassically. We also introduce a new quant

We study the quantum Hall states in the lowest Landau level for a single wide quantum well. Due to a separation of charges to opposite sides of the well, a single wide well can be modelled as an effective two level system. We provide numerical evidence of the existence of a phase transition from an incompressible to a compressible state as the electron densi

Electronic spectra of porous Si have been investigated in the region $<$4 eV below the Fermi level with specimens subjected to in situ oxygenation and thermal treatments. The significance of DOS to the photoluminescence and its degradation in porous Si is discussed. Fine structure of the photoelectron spectra is found from specimens heated in oxygen at 600 K

1) Assuming log Minimal Model Conjecture, we give a construction of a complete moduli space of stable log pairs of arbitrary dimension generalizing directly the space M_{g,n} of pointed stable curves. Each stable pair has semi log canonical singularities. 2) We prove that a stable quasiabelian pair, defined by author and I.Nakamura as the limit of abelian va
