We briefly review its ingredients and some important theoretical issues on the factorization approaches. We show numerical results which is compatible with recent experimantal data for the charmless B-meson decays.
Cosmic Ray Production of Lithium-6 by Structure Formation Shocks in the Early Milky Way: A Fossil Record of Dissipative Processes during Galaxy Formation
astro-phTakeru K. Suzuki, Susumu Inoue
While the abundances of Be and B observed in metal-poor halo stars are well explained as resulting from spallation of CNO-enriched cosmic rays (CRs) accelerated by supernova shocks, accounting for the observed $^6$Li in such stars with supernova CRs is more problematic. We report on a measurement of the highly forbidden $6s^2 ^1S_0 \to 5d6s ^3 D_1$ magnetic-dipole transition in atomic ytterbium using the Stark-interference technique. This amplitude is important in interpreting a future parity nonconservation experiment that exploits the same transition. We find $| < 5d6s ^3 D_1 | M1 | 6s^2 ^1S_0 > | ~ = ~ 1.33(6)_{Stat}(20)

The purpose of this note is to make some connection between the sub-Riemannian geometry on Carnot-Caratheodory groups and symplectic geometry. We shall concentrate here on the Heisenberg group, although it is transparent that almost everything can be done on a general Carnot-Caratheodory group. Such generalisations will be the subject of a forthcoming note.

We examine a central approximation of the recently introduced Dynamical Cluster Approximation (DCA) by example of the Hubbard model. By both analytical and numerical means we study non-compact and compact contributions to the thermodynamic potential. We show that approximating non-compact diagrams by their cluster analogs results in a larger systematic error

We discuss the possibility to employ the shot-noise measurements for the analysis of the energy resolved ballistic currents. Coulomb interactions play an essential role in this technique, since they lead to the shot-noise-suppression level which depends on the details of the energy profile.

Given an infinite graph $\GI$ quasi-transitive and amenable with maximum degree $\D$, we show that reduced ground state degeneracy per site $W_r(\GI,q)$ of the q-state antiferromagnetic Potts model at zero temperature on $\GI$ is analytic in the variable 1/q, whenever $|2\D e^3/q|< 1$. This result proves, in an even stronger formulation, a conjecture origina

High-energy x-ray diffraction experiments peformed on rhombohedral (1-x)Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-xPbTiO3(PZN-xPT) crystals with x= 4.5 and 8% show that an electric field applied along the [001] direction induces the tetragonal phase, as proposed by Park and Shrout. Our experiments reveal that in 4.5PT such phase change occurs via a third phase with monoclinic symmet
25th-order high-temperature expansion results for three-dimensional Ising-like systems on the simple cubic lattice

25th-order high-temperature series are computed for a general nearest-neighbor three-dimensional Ising model with arbitrary potential on the simple cubic lattice. In particular, we consider three improved potentials characterized by suppressed leading scaling corrections. Critical exponents are extracted from high-temperature series specialized to improved p

We present a novel implementation of the parallel tempering Monte Carlo method in a multicanonical ensemble. Multicanonical weights are derived by a self-consistent iterative process using a Boltzmann inversion of global energy histograms. This procedure gives rise to a much broader overlap of thermodynamic-property histograms; fewer replicas are necessary i

The interfacial structure formed in thermoreversible associating polymer solutions is studied within the density functional approach based on Flory's arguments of tree-like configurations of cluster associations. The unique characteristics of the interfacial region can be described in terms of the monomer density along the interface. For a certain value

A series of tensile relaxation tests is performed on isotactic polypropylene in the sub-yield and post-yield regions at room temperature. Constitutive equations are derived for the time-dependent response of a semicrystalline polymer at isothermal loading with small strains. Adjustable parameters in the stress-strain relations are found by fitting experiment
Physical properties of misfit-layered (Bi,Pb)-Sr-Co-O system: Effect of hole doping into triangular lattice formed by low-spin Co ions
cond-mat.str-elT. Yamamoto, K. Uchinokura, I. Tsukada
Pb-doping effect on physical properties of misfit-layered (Bi,Pb)-Sr-Co-O system, in which Co ions form a two-dimensional triangular lattice, was investigated in detail by electronic transport, magnetization and specific-heat measurements. Pb doping enhances the metallic behavior, suggesting that carriers are doped. Pb doping also enhances the magnetic corre
