Abstract
In this paper, we use finite fields and linear algebra methods to resolve a conjecture by T. Zhang, L. Zheng, H. Wang, J. Peng and Y. Li (Finite Fields Appl. 110 (2026) 102743) concerning permutation pentanomials.
