Additional ionization during nuclear β decay in atomic systems
Alexei M. Frolov
Abstract
An original method is developed for numerical calculations of probabilities of the bound-free atomic excitations during the nuclear β decays in actual atoms and ions. To achieve this goal we have derived and tested the closed analytical formulas for the final state probabilities of different excitations in the few-electron atomic systems. This study is the first non-approximate and essentially complete investigation of the atomic bound-free excitations during the nuclear β decays in atoms.
