Irrational Asymptotic Behaviour of Castelnuovo-Mumford Regularity
Abstract
We give examples of nonsingular curves in projective 3 space such that the regularity of powers of their ideal sheaves are highly nonlinear. This is in constrast to the case of an ideal I in a polynomial ring, where the regularity of In is a linear polynomial in n for large n.
