A Relaying Incentive Scheme in Multihop Cellular Networks Based on Coalitional Game with Externalities
cs.GTCuilian Li, Zhen Yang, Feng Tian
Cooperative multihop communication can greatly increase network throughput, yet packet forwarding for other nodes involves opportunity and energy cost for relays. Thus one of the pre-requisite problems in the successful implementation of multihop transmission is how to foster cooperation among selfish nodes. Existing researches mainly adopt monetary stimulat

We derive a simple expression for the probability of trajectories of a master equation. The expression is particularly useful when the number of states is small and permits the calculation of observables that can be defined as functionals of whole trajectories. The role of chirality is discussed in unifying the anomaly and the tunneling formalisms for deriving the Hawking effect. We study aspects of the refining and shifting properties of the 3d MacMahon function $\mathcal{C}_{3}(q) $ used in topological string theory and BKP hierarchy. We derive the explicit expressions of the shifted topological vertex $\mathcal{S}_{λμν}(q) $ and its refined version $\mathcal{T}_{λμν}(q,t) $. These vertices complete results in literature.

We consider supersymmetric models where gauge mediation provides the dominant contributions to the soft supersymmetry breaking terms while gravity mediation provides sub-dominant yet non-negligible contributions. We further assume that the gravity-mediated contributions are subject to selection rules that follow from a Froggatt-Nielsen symmetry. This class o

We address three different problematic Casimir experiments in this work. The first is the classical Casimir force measured between two metal half spaces; here in the form of the Casimir pressure measurement between a gold sphere and a gold plate as performed by Decca et al. [Phys. Rev. D 75, 077101 (2007)]; theory predicts a large negative thermal correction

The last decade has seen numerous efforts to achieve imaging resolution beyond that of the Abbe-Rayleigh diffraction limit. The main direction of research aiming to break this limit seeks to exploit the evanescent components containing fine detail of the electromagnetic field distribution at the immediate proximity of the object. Here we propose a solution t

We propose an experimentally accessible procedure for conditional preparation of highly non-classical states of collective spin of an atomic ensemble. The quantum state engineering is based on a combination of QND interaction between atoms and light previously prepared in a non-Gaussian state using photon subtraction from squeezed vacuum beam, homodyne detec

We examine the variability in the intrinsic absorption in the Seyfert 1 galaxy Mrk 279 using three epochs of observations from the Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer (FUSE) and two epochs of observations with the Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph on the Hubble Space Telescope. Rather than finding simple photoionization responses of the absorbing gas t

In this paper we review the modeling of the Local Bubble (LB) with special emphasis on the progress we have made since the last major conference "The Local Bubble and Beyond (I)" held in Garching in 1997. Since then new insight was gained into the possible origin of the LB, with a moving group crossing its volume during the last 10 - 15 Myr being mos

We discuss the three-body decay mechanisms of many-body resonances. R-matrix sequential description is compared with full Faddeev computation. The role of the angular momentum and boson symmetries is also studied. As an illustration we show the computed $α$-particle energy distribution after the decay of 12C(1^+) resonance at 12.7 MeV.

The structure of nanoclusters is complex to describe due to their noncrystallinity, even though bonding and packing constraints limit the local atomic arrangements to only a few types. A computational scheme is presented to extract coordination motifs from sample atomic configurations. The method is based on a clustering analysis of multipole moments for ato

Granular flows through pipes show interesting phenomena, e.g. clogging and density waves, 1/f-noise. These things are fairly good studied by computer-experiments, but there is a lack in theoretical and analytical consideration. We introduce a simple "minimal" model describing such a flow of granular particles and examine the stability of an initially

We give a pedagogical review of recent progress towards understanding the response of a strongly coupled plasma at finite temperature to a hard probe. The plasma is that of the N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory and the hard probe is a virtual photon, or, more precisely, an R-current. Via the gauge/gravity duality, the problem of the current interacting wi

We study the time-evolution of an optically trapped spinor Bose-Einstein condensate under the influence of a dominating magnetic bias field in the z-direction, and a perpendicular smaller field that couples the spinor states. We show that if the bias field depends quadratically on time, the relative phases of the spinor components affect the populations of t
