Green functions and correlation functions of a solvable S=1 quantum Ising spin model with dimerization
cond-mat.str-elZhi-Hua Yang, Li-Ping Yang, Hai-Na Wu, Jianhui Dai
This is a supplementary material of our recent paper\cite{yangPRB}, where a class of exactly solvable S=1 quantum Ising spin models were studied based on the hole decomposition scheme. Here we provide some details for the Green functions, the spin-spin correlation functions, as well as the spin susceptibility in the presence of dimerization.

Let G be a graph. The (unlabeled) configuration space of n points on G is the space of all n-element subsets of G. The fundamental group of such a configuration space is called a graph braid group. We use a version of discrete Morse theory to compute presentations of all graph braid groups, for all finite connected graphs G and all natural numbers n.

The aim of this letter is to analyze the effect on decoherence of the randomness of the coupling coefficients involved in the interaction Hamiltonian. By studying the spin-bath model with computer simulations, we show that such randomness greatly improves the "efficiency" of decoherence and, then, its physical meaning deserves to be considered.

The fundamental Gray 3-groupoid of a smooth manifold and local 3-dimensional holonomy based on a 2-crossed module
math.CTJoao Faria Martins, Roger Picken
We define the thin fundamental Gray 3-groupoid $S_3(M)$ of a smooth manifold $M$ and define (by using differential geometric data) 3-dimensional holonomies, to be smooth strict Gray 3-groupoid maps $S_3(M) \to C(H)$, where $H$ is a 2-crossed module of Lie groups and $C(H)$ is the Gray 3-groupoid naturally constructed from $H$. As an application, we define Wi
On the statistics of quantum transfer of non-interacting fermions in multi-terminal junctions
cond-mat.mes-hallD. Kambly, D. A. Ivanov
Similarly to the recently obtained result for two-terminal systems, we show that there are constraints on the full counting statistics for non-interacting fermions in multi-terminal contacts. In contrast to the two-terminal result, however, there is no factorization property in the multi-terminal case.

Chern-Simons modified gravity is an effective extension of general relativity that captures leading-order, gravitational parity violation. Such an effective theory is motivated by anomaly cancelation in particle physics and string theory. In this review, we begin by providing a pedagogical derivation of the three distinct ways such an extension arises: (1) i

The behaviour of boundary conditions under relevant bulk perturbations is studied for the Virasoro minimal models. In particular, we consider the bulk deformation by the least relevant bulk field which interpolates between the mth and (m-1)st unitary minimal model. In the presence of a boundary this bulk flow induces an RG flow on the boundary, which ensures

We provide a data mine of proven results for multiple zeta values (MZVs) of the form $\zeta(s_1,s_2,...,s_k)=\sum_{n_1>n_2>...>n_k>0}^\infty \{1/(n_1^{s_1} >... n_k^{s_k})\}$ with weight $w=\sum_{i=1}^k s_i$ and depth $k$ and for Euler sums of the form $\sum_{n_1>n_2>...>n_k>0}^\infty t\{(\epsilon_1^{n_1} >...\epsilon_1 ^{n_k})/ (n_1^{s_1} ... n_k^{s_k}) \}$
Physical Properties of Dense Cores in the Rho Ophiuchi Main Cloud and A Significant Role of External Pressures in Clustered Star Formation

Using the archive data of the H13CO+ (J=1-0) line emission taken with the Nobeyama 45 m radio telescope with a spatial resolution of about 0.01pc, we have identified 68 dense cores in the central dense region of the rho Ophiuchi main cloud. The H13CO+ data also indicates that the fractional abundance of H13CO+ relative to H2 is roughly inversely proportional

Results of a numerically exact transfer matrix calculation for the model of Interacting Self-Avoiding Trails are presented. The results lead to the conclusion that, at the collapse transition, Self-Avoiding Trails are in the same universality class as the O(n=0) model of Blote and Nienhuis (or vertex-interacting self-avoiding walk), which has thermal exponen

We introduce cone bilipschitz equivalences between metric spaces. These are maps, more general than quasi-isometries, that induce a bilipschitz homeomorphism between asymptotic cones. Non-trivial examples appear in the context of Lie groups, and we thus prove that the study of asymptotic cones of connected Lie groups can be reduced to that of solvable Lie gr
Spectral analysis of the 91bg-like Type Ia SN 2005bl: Low luminosity, low velocities, incomplete burning
astro-ph.HEStephan Hachinger, Paolo A. Mazzali, Stefan Taubenberger, Ruediger Pakmor
The properties of underluminous type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) of the 91bg subclass have yet to be theoretically understood. Here, we take a closer look at the structure of the dim SN Ia 2005bl. We infer the abundance and density profiles needed to reproduce the observed spectral evolution between -6 d and +12.9 d with respect to B maximum. Initially, we assume

The suggested model permits to construct gauge-invariant expressions bringing to the masses of all the fermions, included the neutrinos. The model realizes Higgs mechanism. It is based on the presence of non-trivial ground states of a scalar field. An arbitrary fixed ground state generates the masses of all the particles. The selected symmetry is based on th
Highest weight categories arising from Khovanov's diagram algebra IV: the general linear supergroup
math.RTJonathan Brundan, Catharina Stroppel
We prove that blocks of the general linear supergroup are Morita equivalent to a limiting version of Khovanov's diagram algebra. We deduce that blocks of the general linear supergroup are Koszul.

Molecule-based devices are envisioned to complement silicon devices by providing new functions or already existing functions at a simpler process level and at a lower cost by virtue of their self-organization capabilities. Moreover, they are not bound to von Neuman architecture and this feature may open the way to other architectural paradigms. Neuromorphic

We show that interface bound states are formed at isolated graphene-superconductor junctions. These states arise due to the interplay of virtual Andreev and normal reflections taking place at these interfaces. Simple analytical expressions for their dispersion are obtained considering interfaces formed along armchair or zig-zag edges. It is shown that the st

A model is presented of the leptons, quarks and bosons as non-elementary particles being composed of spinons. They are defined as massless fermions obeying the Weyl equations, but in addition are charged and assumed to have two internal degrees of freedom (weak colour charges). The corresponding total Lagrangian density of the quantized fields has a fermioni

Let $K=k(C)$ be the function field of a curve over a field $k$ and let $X$ be a smooth, projective, separably rationally connected $K$-variety with $X(K)\neq\emptyset$. Under the assumption that $X$ admits a smooth projective model $π: \mathcal{X}\to C$, we prove the following weak approximation results: (1) if $k$ is a large field, then $X(K)$ is Zariski de

In this paper, we consider the special case of $F(R)$ gravity, in which $F(R)= R^{N}$ and obtain its topological black hole solutions in higher dimensions. We show that, the same as higher dimensional charged black hole, these solutions may be interpreted as black hole solutions with two event horizons, extreme black hole and naked singularity provided the p

We calculate the shear viscosity $\eta$ to entropy density $s$ ratio $\eta /s$ of a gluon plasma in kinetic theory including the gg->gg and gg<->ggg processes. Due to the suppressed contribution to $\eta$ in the gg->gg forward scattering, it is known that the gluon bremsstrahlung gg<->ggg process also contributes at the same order $O(\alpha_{s}^{-2})$ in per
