If $p$ is a prime number, consider a $p$-automatic sequence $(u_n)_{n\ge 0}$, and let $U(X) = \sum_{n\ge 0} u_n X^n \in \mathbb{F}_p[[X]]$ be its generating function. Assume that there exists a formal power series $V(X) = \sum_{n\ge 0} v_n X^n \in \mathbb{F}_p[[X]]$ which is the compositional inverse of $U$, i.e., $U(V(X))=X=V(U(X))$. The problem investigate

Using three different approaches, Perturbation Theory (PT), the Lagrange Mesh Method (Lag-Mesh) and the Variational Method (VM), we study the low-lying states of the Yukawa potential $V(r)=-(λ/r)e^{-αr}\,$. First orders in PT in powers of $α$ are calculated in the framework of the Non-Linerization Procedure. It is found that the Padé approximants to PT serie

Networks are often made up of several layers that exhibit diverse degrees of interdependencies. A multilayer interdependent network consists of a set of graphs $G$ that are interconnected through a weighted interconnection matrix $ B $, where the weight of each inter-graph link is a non-negative real number $ p $. Various dynamical processes, such as synchro

Observations of several gravitationally microlensed quasars in X-rays revealed variations in the profile of the iron K$α$ line in the course of microlensing events. We explore the effect by simulating a microlensing caustic crossing a spatially resolved model of emission from a thin accretion disk around a Kerr black hole. We demonstrate the sequence of spec

The quantum hydrodynamic model of the electrostatic waves in the two parallel layers of two dimensional electron gases (2DEGs) is developed. It is considered for two regimes: classic regime and quantum regime with the separate spin evolution. Two Langmuir-like waves are found in classic case which have an interference-like pattern in the frequency dependence
Manual Post-editing of Automatically Transcribed Speeches from the Icelandic Parliament - Althingi

The design objectives for an automatic transcription system are to produce text readable by humans and to minimize the impact on manual post-editing. This study reports on a recognition system used for transcribing speeches in the Icelandic parliament - Althingi. It evaluates the system performance and its effect on manual post-editing. The results are compa

In this paper, we address the challenges facing the adoption of client puzzles as means to protect the TCP connection establishment channel from state exhaustion DDoS attacks. We model the problem of selecting the puzzle difficulties as a Stackelberg game with the server as the leader and the clients as the followers and obtain the equilibrium solution for t
Spontaneous $\mathcal{T}$-symmetry breaking and exceptional points in cavity quantum electrodynamics systems
quant-phYu-Kun Lu, Pai Peng, Qi-Tao Cao, Da Xu
Spontaneous symmetry breaking has revolutionized the understanding in numerous fields of modern physics. Here, we theoretically demonstrate the spontaneous time-reversal symmetry breaking in a cavity quantum electrodynamics system in which an atomic ensemble interacts coherently with a single resonant cavity mode. The interacting system can be effectively de

We study graphs with the property that every edge-colouring admits a monochromatic cycle (the length of which may depend freely on the colouring) and describe those graphs that are minimal with this property. We show that every member in this class reduces recursively to one of the base graphs $K_5-e$ or $K_4\vee K_4$ (two copies of $K_4$ identified at an ed

Multisorted modules, equivalently representations of quivers, equivalently additive functors on preadditive categories, encompass a wide variety of additive structures. In addition, every module has a natural and useful multisorted extension by imaginaries. The model theory of multisorted modules works just as for the usual, 1-sorted modules. A number of exa

Digital signs(such as barcode or QR code) are widely used in our daily life, and for many applications, we need to localize them on images. However, difficult cases such as targets with small scales, half-occlusion, shape deformation and large illumination changes cause challenges for conventional methods. In this paper, we address this problem by producing

We give a structure theorem for inside factorial domains. As an example we study the monoid of nonnegative integer solutions of equations of the form $a_1x_1+\cdots +a_{r-1}x_{r-1}=a_rx_r$, with $a_1,\ldots,a_r$ positive integers. This set is isomorphic to a simplicial full affine semigroup, and thus it can be described in terms of its extremal rays and the

Consider a set of agents that wish to estimate a vector of parameters of their mutual interest. For this estimation goal, agents can sense and communicate. When sensing, an agent measures (in additive gaussian noise) linear combinations of the unknown vector of parameters. When communicating, an agent can broadcast information to a few other agents, by using

We examine the thermodynamic behaviour of four-dimensional charged and uncharged de Sitter black holes enclosed in an isothermal cavity, in the extended phase space where the cosmological constant is treated as a thermodynamic pressure. We demonstrate the presence of a novel pressure-dependent phase transition in a compact region of phase space that does not
Parallel Optimal Control for Cooperative Automation of Large-scale Connected Vehicles via ADMM
eess.SYZhitao Wang, Yang Zheng, Shengbo Eben Li, Keyou You
This paper proposes a parallel optimization algorithm for cooperative automation of large-scale connected vehicles. The task of cooperative automation is formulated as a centralized optimization problem taking the whole decision space of all vehicles into account. Considering the uncertainty of the environment, the problem is solved in a receding horizon fas

GJMS operator determinants in odd dimensions are quickly computed for scalar and spinor fields in both sub- and super-critical cases as sums of Dirichlet eta functions with polynomials in the (integer) operator order as coefficients.

X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy of graphene is important both for its characterization and as a model for other carbon materials. Despite great recent interest, the intrinsic photoemission of its single layer has not been unambiguously measured, nor is the layer-dependence in free-standing multilayers accurately determined. We combine scanning transmission
