A Density Functional for Quark Matter with Screened Confinement Interactions
Oliver Heymer, David Blaschke
Abstract
We derive a density functional for quark matter with linear confinement interaction, applying the principle of saturation of color interactions. For the saturation parameter μ the ansatz μ=kF is suggested, where for the Fermi momentum kF n1/3 going to zero the Cornell potential is obtained and at finite quark densities n an interaction energy density functional n2/3 results.
